I'm not a compulsive person. I don't make split second rash decisions. I have the ability to yearn for something for pretty much any length of time and either make it happen or just forget about it and move on. But when I'm in the mood for a tattoo...I want it. I need it. NOW. Thankfully this desire strikes me about once every 3 years or so. I find something I want on my body, figure out where I want it to go, and that's it. Done and done.
I only have three tattoos and I really don't mind any of them. I mean sure, could I do without the butterfly on my lower back? Sure, but A.) I rarely see it, and B.) When I was 18, I reallllllly wanted it and loved it, so it kinda brings me back to that carefree moment of my life whenever I happen to catch a little glimpse of it.
I also have the numbers 123910 on my left wrist which symbolize the days each of the members of my family were born (the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th, & 10th). It's probably my favorite because I 'came up with it' and I love having it right on my wrist so I see it each day. I get a lot of stupid questions about it (concentration camp number?? seriously...that's happened), so that can get annoying but I know what it means and that's all that matters.
My third tattoo is the one that gets the most questions. Its on my left hip and says 'folie á deux' which is French for 'a madness shared by two'. One of my best girlfriends and I have matching tattoos of this. We got them during a point in our lives where we really depended on each other and were just completely simpatico in every aspect of, well everything. It's a really important tattoo to me because I feel like those years being so close with her made me into the person I am today so I love that I have a little mark of that time with me always.
And now for my newest addition? Drumrollllllllllll..........
Nah.
You'll just have to wait for the finished project.

NOTE: All the tattoos in this post are by Dr. Woo, a tattoo artist at the Shamrock Social Club in Hollywood, CA. If I could have a do-over with my tattoos, I would have flown out to Cali for each of them to have Dr. Woo do them. So sick.
