Not sure if you could tell from previous posts, but I'm a red wine gal. It's my drink of choice on most occasions, unless I want a beer. Then I want a Corona with two limes...but most of the time, it's vino.
But there's something about the warmer weather that makes me want to venture outside my realm of Riojas and Malbecs, and get a little more creative with what I use to quench my thirst.
Pimm's Cup, if you have never had it, is a delicious British bevvie -bonus points for honoring the hubbys homeland- and I highly recommend serving it at your next summer soiree. Most people have never had it (or even heard of it) so they will be uber impressed with your cocktail knowledge.
INGREDIENTS (Makes 1 serving):
2 oz Pimm's No. 1 Gin
4 oz 7up soda
cucumber
lemon
DIRECTIONS:
Slice some cucumber and lemon and muddle
Dump muddled ingredients in a shaker, add pims and 7up
Give mixture a little stir, fill you cup with ice, and pour over.
Add a slice of lemon and slice of cucumber to garnish. Also throw in a paper straw, they make drinks that much more fun, no?
Cin, Cin!
xx - C
**NOTE: We didn't have a muddler, so we used a spice grinder...it got the job done.
Even though it took 24 hours to get the top off the shaker, the drink was well worth it!! Xoxo
